Puppy Foundation
Early development is critical for small-breed puppies, requiring a specialized, science-based
approach tailored to tiny bodies and developing nervous systems.
The Puppy Foundation Program is a structured developmental coaching package designed to guide you through your puppy’s most important window of growth, building lifelong emotional stability, impulse control, and calm confidence.
Session 1 — Puppy Assessment & Foundation
- Focus Areas: Reviewing puppy history, evaluating the home environment, optimizing daily routines, sleep architecture, environmental enrichment, potty training, crate mechanics, handling tolerance, socialization strategy, arousal regulation, and handler engagement.
- Homework (Puppy Environment Reset): Owners begin implementing a predictable schedule, structured rest periods, appropriate enrichment, scheduled feeding, consistent potty routines, and foundational handling exercises.
Session 2 — Engagement & Communication
- Focus Areas: Teaching reliable name response, active engagement, clear marker and reward systems, spontaneous attention, following behaviors, basic communication mechanics, and appropriate reinforcement schedules.
- Homework: Short, frequent practice sessions (5–10 minutes, 2–3 times per day) designed to prevent mental exhaustion while building strong foundational habits.
Session 3 — Boundaries & Calmness
- Focus Areas: Teaching place commands, settling on cue, threshold waiting, doorway manners, household boundaries, and fundamental impulse control for tiny puppies.
- Homework (The Calm Dog Protocol): Integrating structured calmness into daily household routines to prevent over-arousal and "landshark" behavior.
Session 4 — Socialization & Environmental Confidence
- Focus Areas: Redefining socialization. Instead of the outdated advice to "meet lots of dogs," we teach your puppy the essential sequence: observe - process - recover - engage.
- Target Areas: Working systematically with novel surfaces, sounds, people, distance, varied environments, vehicles, and gentle grooming/handling desensitization.
Session 5 — Real-World Proofing
- Focus Areas: Stepping out into a controlled real-world environment to proof your puppy's skills under distraction. We focus on loose-leash mechanics, environmental confidence, engagement maintenance, settling in public, and owner timing.
- Deliverable (Puppy Graduation Plan): The owner receives a comprehensive roadmap mapping out the next 30–60 days of continued development.
Between-Session Support & Guidelines
To ensure clear communication and consistent progress, all puppy packages include structured support:
- Business-Hours Messaging: Monday–Friday, with responses provided within 24–48 hours.
- Scope of Support: Between-session support is thoughtfully designed for training questions and troubleshooting—not emergency behavior consultations.

Cancellation Policy
To respect our specialists' time and keep schedules running smoothly, we enforce a 48-hour cancellation policy:
- With 48+ Hours Notice: Appointments can be rescheduled without penalty.
- Less Than 48 Hours Notice: A $75 rescheduling fee applies.
- No-Shows: The full session is forfeited.
(Exceptions are made for emergencies, severe weather, or genuine crisis circumstances.)
Program Expiration & Calendar Protection
To ensure consistent momentum during your puppy's crucial developmental window, the Puppy Foundation program must be completed within 8 weeks of purchase. This protects training consistency and ensures your puppy receives timely guidance during their formative months.
Our specialist reserves the right to modify training protocols based on each puppy's individual sensitivity, temperament, physical stamina, and enjoyment of human interaction. We prioritize the dog’s mental and emotional well-being to ensure they remain a willing, confident, and happy participant in their work.
